KING 5 has a long history of partnering with the American Red Cross to support the community in times of need. Please join KING 5 in supporting their efforts and donate to Northwest Response. All donations will help people affected by raging wildfires in Washington and Oregon, and enable the Red Cross to respond to the devastating destruction the fires are bringing to homes, businesses and communities.

The Red Cross cannot accept donations of clothes and other items, but they are in need of cash donations. ANY amount is helpful as they provide assistance to families that have been displaced or impacted by the active and growing wildfires throughout Washington and the rest of the country. As of September 11, the Red Cross is estimating responses costs between $250,000-$2.5 million for Washington and more than $10 million for Oregon.

You can donate through our Northwest Response page through this special link for KING 5 viewers.

You can also donate at the nearest U.S. Bank branch or ATM closest to you. When visiting a location, mention you want to donate to the Northwest Response Fund. All branches within the Washington Metro Region and all in-store locations have been activated and are prepared to help you make a contribution.

The Red Cross has shelters open in Springfield, Redmond, Salem, Glide, Chiloquin and Colton, Oregon, and Puyallup, Tacoma, Spokane, Wenatchee, Selah and Kennewick, Washington.

Your generous support enables the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters. Donations make it possible for the Red Cross to provide food, water, showers, first aid and emotional support.
