As Seattle’s rental market slowly cools, at least one Bellevue zip code is surging ahead.

Renters living within zip code 98004, which includes Downtown Bellevue, now has the highest average rent in the Pacific Northwest, according to RentCafe. The average rent is $2,824. The area saw a 4.6 percent year-over-year increase in rental prices.

Overall, Seattle continues to dominate the rental market with six of the 10 most expensive zip codes. However, only one zip code (98103) in Seattle saw a year-over-year increase, according to data from RentCafe.

Zip codes in Issaquah (98029), Mercer Island (98040), and Redmond (98052) also made the top 10 list. All three had year-over-year rental increases.

Of course, the rent in Bellevue is nothing compared to that of Los Angeles, where people living within zip code 90024 pay an average of $4,883 per month on rent. Or Manhattan, where people living in zip code 10282 pay $5,657.

Twenty-six of the 50 top zip codes with the highest average rent are in Manhattan. No zip code in Washington makes the top 50 list.
