Yes, your dog does deserve professional photographs!

If you think it's too hard to get good photos of your dogs, take them to "Say Woof" studio in Southlake Union. #newdaynw

SEATTLE — A photo studio, Say Woof, in Southlake Union is specializing in dog photography. The services included are pet portraits for regular or special events, and family photos with dogs.

"[Our] Customer wants great headshots, something like a LinkedIn photo. So first, we take really good headshot looking straight at the camera. But after that, we take a bunch of photos of their personality," explained Rina Kang, Say Woof founder and photographer.

Taking professional dog photos can be challenging, as the dog might not be comfortable being in a photo studio, but Kang has many tricks to get good shots.

"The treats are the best but when the treat doesn't work, I used to use like squeaky toys, but now I just use my voice," said Kang, as she showed us how she made high pitch noises to grab dogs attention.

Before photographing dogs, Kang did wedding, commercial, etc. photography after finishing her education at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Inspired by her senior dog, Doobu (which means tofu in Korean), Kang started photographing dogs in 2019. She started from doing a pop-up event, and now she has a dog photo studio in Southlake Union.

"When I'm taking photos of dogs, it's always reminded me of my first dog … He was diagnosed with Lymphoma which is cancer," Kang said. Doobu passed away a year after he was diagnosed at the age of 15, his memory stays forever on his photograph.

The Say Woof Studio is also offering a self-service selfie portrait in a professional photo studio setting called Say Cheese. It has a professional photo studio set-up, and customers have the freedom to take photos with a remote, and the chosen photos will be touched-up.
