Seattle hit 86 degrees on Friday - another new record

Friday soared to 86 degrees in Seattle, a new heat record for May 10.

Seattle broke another heat record on Friday as temperatures soared to 86 degrees. That shatters the 1993 record of 80 degrees for May 10 in Seattle. 

The heat will continue into Saturday with 84 degrees in the forecast.

Onshore flow is expected to resume by Saturday evening, bringing temperatures back into the 70s on Sunday. But Mother's Day could still climb up to 78 degrees. 

We should gradually cool back down to the 60s by mid next week, and there's even a chance of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.

KING 5 Senior Meteorologist Rich Marriott predicts Puget Sound will stay dry until May 15, which would be the driest ever start to May.

Seattle already set a high temperature record Thursday, recording 83 degrees at Sea-Tac Airport.
