Ben There, Done That: Washington Park

We continue our accessible Ben There, Done That hikes in Anacortes at Washington Park. It includes everything from rain forest to breathtaking maritime views. Not to mention, it’s quite short at just over 2 miles for the paved loop.

The nice part about this hike is that you can walk along a paved road that circles the entire park. There are numerous hiking trails that branch off to different areas.

As you make your way around the trail system, trail signs can sometimes be confusing. It’s a good idea to download the map on your phone so you don’t get lost.

The south side of the park breaks open to magnificent views of the Salish Sea. It’s almost like being in a different country.

The west side features West Beach which brings you right up to the water’s edge.

Green Point is a great place for a picnic, especially on a warm summer day.

It just goes to show, you don’t have to go far to feel far away.
