The Seattle Seahawks are inching closer to actual practice on the field, wrapping up Phase 2 of the offseason workouts on Friday. Come Monday, the team enters Phase 3, which includes organized team activities (OTAs) and a mandatory minicamp.

Article 21 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement provides for the voluntary offseason workout programs which are “intended to provide training, teaching and physical conditioning for players.”

Each club’s nine-week program is broken down in three phases. Here’s a closer look at what is and isn’t allowed during the Phase 3 practice sessions, the final four weeks of the program.

Teams are allowed a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity (OTAs) but no live contact is permitted. However, clubs can hold 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills.

Article 22 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement provides for one minicamp for veteran players, the only mandatory session of the offseason workouts.

Seattle’s scheduled OTAs are as follows: May 21-22, May 24, May 29-30, June 1, and June 4-7. Minicamp will be held June 12-14.
