The Seattle Seahawks will host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 1:25 p.m. PT.
The game was originally slated for Sunday Night Football’s primetime 5:20 p.m. slot, but it has been replaced by the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Seahawks (4-5) and 49ers (2-8) has long been one of the best sports rivalries on the west coast. The offseason departure of free agent Richard Sherman from Seattle to San Francisco only fueled the fire between the two teams, leading to this game getting billed for SNF.
However, the 49ers have disappointed big time this season, with key injuries to Jerick McKinnon, Jimmy Garoppolo and Brock Coyle holding them back. The Seahawks have found their footing as of late but still sit in a distant second place in the top-heavy NFC West.
Therefore, a solid matchup between the 6-2-1 Steelers and the 7-2 Chargers will draw the Sunday night crowd instead.
Seattle is focusing on their upcoming primetime matchup, a Thursday night tilt against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers that is scheduled for 5:20 p.m. PT. on Thursday.
