Get rid of your thick glasses and see clearly with this procedure

EVO ICL is an advanced vision correction option that can correct moderate to severe nearsightedness. Sponsored by SharpeVision.

SEATTLE — People who aren’t candidates for other laser vision correction options may be candidates for the innovative EVO ICL treatment. It’s an advanced procedure that works in harmony with your natural eye.

“It’s a tiny lens that goes inside your eye, instead of on your eye,” said Dr. Matthew Sharpe, founder of SharpeVision. “It can correct very large degrees of nearsightedness and astigmatism, similar to a contact lens, but you never have to touch it or mess with it at all.”

EVO ICL doesn’t change the shape of the cornea and can be removed if needed. For patients not eligible for LASIK or PRK, Dr. Sharpe suggests looking into EVO ICL.

“Especially for those patients, I would encourage them to come back and see us and see whether this new technology allows them to get rid of their glasses and contact lenses,” Dr. Sharpe said.

The recovery after EVO ICL is quick, and the procedure causes no pain, both during and after it. Patients also don’t experience eye dryness associated with other procedures. EVO ICL is growing in popularity and has a 99.4% satisfaction rate.

“It’s not an inexpensive procedure, but it’s a great investment for your health,” Dr. Sharpe said.

SharpeVision offers a free comprehensive exam to assess eye health and help patients understand the technologies available to them.

“EVO is generally our number one recommendation at this point because of the advantages of it,” Dr. Sharpe said.

Dr. Sharpe says communication is key when meeting with patients, and he makes himself available for questions and concerns before and after any procedure.

“I give them a very honest discussion of why they’re a good candidate for this, what the pros and cons are and make sure that the communication piece is fully executed,” he said.

Dr. Sharpe has a great deal of experience and has performed more EVO ICL procedures than anyone in Washington and the PNW. He has seen the procedure give countless patients a better quality of life.

“People with very thick glasses, for the most part, will come in and see 20/20 or better,” he said.
