Woman shot, killed in Belltown, suspect in custody

Arriving officers reportedly found the victim, a woman in her 20s or 30s, with a gunshot wound in an alley behind The Crocodile music venue.

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found shot outside a Belltown music venue early Sunday morning.

The Seattle Police Department said officers responded to a report of a shooting inside a building in the 2500 block of Western Avenue at 1:10 a.m.

Arriving officers reportedly found the victim, a woman in her 20s or 30s, with a gunshot wound in an alley behind The Crocodile music venue, between Wall and Vine Street. Officers attempted life-saving efforts but she died at the scene, police said.

Seattle police arrested a woman in her late 20s to early 30s as the suspect and recovered a gun.

Police said they are still investigating what led up to the shooting.
