Here's where some of largest Powerball prize tickets were bought in Washington state

Some Washingtonians have won big recently by playing Powerball.

WASHINGTON, USA — The winner of Wednesday's Powerball jackpot of $1.765 billion did not purchase their ticket in Washington, but there have been some significant amounts won by people in The Evergreen State.

A Southern California town has been identified as the location where the winning ticket was sold. The person defied astronomical odds to earn one of the largest jackpots in the history of Powerball.

In the spirit of finally having the billion-dollar prize awarded, here are the five largest Powerball prizes won in Washington state over the past year. The data comes from the official website of Washington's Lottery.

Earlier this year, of course, a Powerball jackpot ticket was purchased by a former Boeing employee at a Fred Meyer in AuburnBecky Bell's prize was $754.6 million, but she won a national jackpot, whereas the below winners did not have each and every number in the drawing.

$150,000

This amount was won twice in the past year, most recently on June 26. Robin C. took home $150,000 after buying their ticket at the Fred Meyer on 1st Avenue South in Burien.

All the way back on Oct. 31, 2022, Ernest N. got a Halloween surprise after buying a Powerball ticket at a 7-Eleven location on 204th Street NE in Arlington.

$200,000

Back-to-back local Powerball winners actually took home a $200,000 prize. The first was on Jan. 26, when Michael V. had numbers worth six figures from a ticket purchased at a Discount Tobacco and Beverage on Valley Mall Parkway in East Wenatchee.

Just a few days later, Diane D's ticket from Spirit Mini Mart on South 12th Street in Tacoma made her $200,000 richer.

$1,000,000

In September, Lanada M. claimed her seven-figure prize after purchasing a Powerball ticket at an Arco station on West Heron Street in Aberdeen.

$2,000,000

Just days before Christmas, Edith B.'s ticket from a Fred Meyer in Maple Valley netted a $2 million prize.
