SEATTLE — Fremont Brewing has been sold to the owner of Pike Brewing.

Seattle Hospitality Group announced that it acquired a controlling interest in Fremont Brewing on Monday.

According to a statement from the ownership group, both breweries will maintain their own brand identities and products.

Howard Write, founder and chair of the ownership group, said the group's mission is to "invest in iconic Pacific Northwest brands, and our acquisition of Fremont Brewing is a continuation of this long-term vision."

“We are excited by this opportunity to invest in a Seattle company that shares our passion for culture and vision for growth," he added.

Matt Lincecum, owner of Fremont Brewing, said in a prepared statement they are "excited to embark on this journey with Seattle Hospitality Group and Pike Brewing."

"Both of our breweries share a deep-rooted passion for brewing exceptional beer and fostering meaningful connections within the local community. Keeping it local is really what this partnership with SHG, Pike, and Fremont is all about," he added.

The ownership group, which was founded in 2002, acquired Pike Brewing in 2021.

Fremont Brewing was founded in 2009 by Lincecum and Sara Nelson, current president of the Seattle City Council. Production began with a 15-barrel brewhouse and an annual production capacity of 1,000 barrels. The brewery expanded in 2016 to a facility that houses an 80-barrel system
