The Georgetown Carnival brings amazing bands to Seattle this weekend - KEXP's Music That Matters

Each week, The Morning Show's DJ John Richards from KEXP 90.3 FM makes recommendations to help us sort through the many incredible options for live music in Seattle's music scene.

This is KEXP's list of the Music that Matters for the week of 6/5.

LIVE MUSIC

  • TUES 6/5 & THURS 6/7 - Social Distortion - Showbox SoDo - The California punk band has been at it since 1978 and released 7 studio albums. Keep an eye out for Mike Ness and company around town, it appears the band has a night off in Seattle on Wednesday between shows
  • WED 6/6 - King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Showbox SoDo - In 2017 the prolific band promised to release a total of 5 studio albums, which they did, bringing their total up to 13.
  • THURS 6/7 & FRI 6/8 - Lord Huron - The Moore - Lord Huron's third album Vide Noir came out in April.
  • SAT 6/9 - Dr. Dog - The Moore - Dr. Dog released their tenth album Critical Equation in April.
  • SAT 6/9 - Calexico - The Neptune - The Tucson band released their 10th album The Thread That Keeps Us this year.
  • SAT 6/9 - Stag - Georgetown Carnival - The Georgetown Carnival also features Sky Cries Mary, The Black Tones, and lots more, plus the famous power tool drag races!
