SEATTLE — Located in Pike Place Market, the Market Magic Shop was founded back in 1973. Today, it is the longest-running magic shop in the Pacific Northwest and the fourth-oldest in the country.

At the entrance, you will be greeted by a fortuneteller named ZOLTAR. But the real magic is inside this shop.

“A lot of people have their first memories here in this shop, generations of families have been in here.” said Market Magic Shop Manager Eric Stevens.

Just take a peek inside the shop, and you’ll find pretty much anything that you can think of when it comes to your magic needs from cards, coins, books and juggling equipment to tarot cards, clowning supplies, yo-yos, jokes, gags, and more!

Magic is known as an ancient practice used to manifest supernatural forces, or at least is what it seems like.

So, if you are looking for something to create an illusion in a creative way, there is one place in the city that can help you with that.

They welcome people of all ages and all levels. If looking for a good time learning one or two tricks with friends, or even a professional magician in need of new props, you sure will quickly realize that is a store like no other.

Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, is easy to say that the Market Magic Shop is a favorite and special for visitors.

“Magic is the gift of a moment, this is the only place to go,” Stevens said. “What makes a great magician is someone that pays attention to the details.”

The shop is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 50th anniversary celebration is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.
