KD Hall Foundation launches new talk show celebrating women, next generation

The pilot of "Conversations with KD Hall" aired on Saturday, March 16, on KING 5. Watch it below.

SEATTLE — A new talk show in Western Washington is set to launch during Women's History Month. The new show "Conversations with KD Hall" will air on KING 5 at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16.

The KD Hall Foundation's mission is to support women and girls in becoming leaders with an added focus on helping young girls of color reach their goals. The foundation runs several programs.

Currently, there are 97 Washington state girls enrolled in the 2024 Girls on the Rise program with 30 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The launch of the talk show is part of the mission, according to founder and show host KD Hall.

"This first season will explore themes such as sports, women, and healthcare, with each episode designed to enlighten and provoke thought," Hall said.

Portia Polo, a Newport High School student-athlete in Bellevue, is the show's junior co-host.

"I want to be able to have more awareness and participation - more people watching women play sports," Polo said.

This role is a part of helping a young girl learn through mentorship and professional experience.

Ahead of the Saturday night pilot launch, Hall said there will be an event to celebrate the show and the foundation's success so far.

Hall said mothers and daughters are welcome to attend, along with fathers and guardians who wish to bring their daughters to experience a resource fair, prize giveaways, and networking event for young girls interested in various professions.

The launch event starts at 6 p.m. on March 16 at the KD Hall Foundation at 2100 24th Ave., Seattle. The group will then watch the pilot show together at 7:30 p.m.
