SEATTLE — Temperature records were set in different parts around western Washington for three days in a row, with Bellingham even nearing 70 degrees

Warm air settled over the Puget Sound region ushered in by multiple atmospheric rivers beginning last weekend and lingering into midweek. On Sunday, Olympia set a record high temperature of 63 degrees, SeaTac at 61, Quilayute at 65, Hoquiam at 59 and Bellingham at 62.

On Monday, Bellingham registered a high temperature of 68 degrees - a metric the city typically doesn't see until June. It was the warmest temperature on record in the month of January for Bellingham.

The high in Seattle was 61 degrees, which is only the fourth time that Seattle has had back-to-back 60+ degree days in eighty years since record-keeping began, according to the National Weather Service.

On Tuesday, it was Seattle's third consecutive day with a high temperature above 60 degrees. The last time that happened was more than 40 years ago, according to the NWS, from January 20-22 1981.
