Slushy conditions on Snoqualmie Pass Sunday

Mountain snow continues as the Puget Sound lowlands dry out Sunday.

Snow continues to blanket the mountain passes, but the lowlands are drying out with sun breaks throughout Sunday.

Stevens Pass can expect 7 inches of snowfall Sunday, while the Paradise area of Mount Rainier could get 8 inches. Snoqualmie Pass and Crystal Mountain will see 5 more inches of fresh snow Sunday.

After a soggy and breezy Saturday, the lowlands of Western Washington are getting a break from the elements. A ridge of high pressure dries us out for the last day of 2018, and the dry weather should stick around through the countdown to 2019. January 1 may bring a couple light showers up near the international border, but that would be about it.

Don't forget your coat this week. Temperatures will stay in the 40s for the next 7 days, with lows dipping into the 30s.

Our next chance for widespread rain is either later next Wednesday or Thursday.
