LAS VEGAS — A former Washington State University (WSU) star showed up big during Super Bowl LVIII.
Jaylen Watson, a former WSU football prodigy who now plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, came up with one of the biggest plays in the Super Bowl, recovering a 49ers fumble that led to a Chiefs go-ahead touchdown.
The ball bounced off the heel of 49ers corner back Darrell Luter Jr., prompting 49ers offensive lineman Ray-Ray McCloud III to dive for the ball to no avail. Once McCloud missed the ball and Watson saw the opportunity, he and two 49ers players dove for the ball.
But it was Watson who secured the fumble.
