Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin is set to return this week against the Cardinals in Arizona.

Coming off an MCL sprain sustained Week 1 against the Broncos, Baldwin was a limited participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but will likely be cleared in time for Sunday.

“He looked great,” coach Pete Carroll said. “He looked great. He was explosive. The suddenness that we have come to love in his play was there. Caught the ball great. You could just feel he and (Russell Wilson) hooking up on different stuff. Russ was so confident throwing him the football in his routes.

“So we’re really excited for him to play, and play in this game.”

Baldwin told reporters Thursday he’s ready and raring to go but the final decision will not be his to make.

“I don’t know,” Baldwin said. “I know Pete (Carroll) has a press conference coming up soon or eventually. You’ll have to ask him. I‘m ready to go. Again, that’s going to be their call.”

From the sound of Carroll Friday, the wide receiver will indeed get the start in Arizona.

The final injury report of the week – and Baldwin’s status for Sunday – will be released Friday afternoon following the team’s walkthrough.
