Seahawks' Blitz and KING 5's Madison Wade team up to give kids with Rotary Boys and Girls Club new shoes

The giveaway was fueled by Blitz's annual Kicks 4 Kids fundraiser.

SEATTLE — Last summer, a group of people joined Seahawks mascot Blitz on his annual Kicks 4 Kids scooter ride across Washington state to raise money to buy new shoes for kids in the Pacific Northwest.

KING 5's Madison Wade was one of the participants in the 300-plus mile scooter ride. She says it was challenging and a ton of fun.

"Every time we stopped in a small town in eastern Washington, people were so excited to see Blitz and asked what we were up to," she said. "Oftentimes, that conversation ended up with a donation to the fundraiser."

Collectively, they raised thousands of dollars and have been already giving out shoes to kids all over Washington state.

Wade is a Club Advisory Board member for the Rotary Boys and Girls Club and was presented with the Golden Shoe Award!

"When Blitz told me that I raised the most money as an individual, I decided Rotary Boys and Girls Club would be my charity of choice," Wade said.

On Tuesday, they gave dozens of shoes away to club kids and say it was so fun to see their excitement to get brand new Nike shoes and school supplies.
