The Seattle Seahawks will be without two of their starting linebackers Monday night against the Chicago Bears. Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright – both ruled out on the injury report for the prime time contest – could return in time to face the Dallas Cowboys for the Seahawks’ home opener.

While Wright has been recovering from arthroscopic surgery since the end of the summer, Wagner just popped up on the practice report this week.

“He had a groin thing that showed up kind of late,” Carroll explained after Saturday’s walkthrough. “He felt it, but thought it was a cramp or something coming out of the game and it just took him a couple of days to get it assessed.

“He’s running, he’s already working hard, but he’s not quite ready so we’ll get him probably next week.”

Wright is looking like he could make a return to practice as well after running hard last week and rehabbing after his knee scope.

“I watched him run today,” Carroll said. “He ran great. He ran great. I can’t imagine him not competing to play the next week. He really looked great today. He had an extensive workout and I was just thrilled for him. To come back in two and a half weeks and look like that, it’s a fantastic recovery.”

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Wright could also be back on the field in time to face the Cowboys at home.

“Great job by the trainers in working him back through it, but also just him handling it and dealing with it,” Carroll said. “It depends on how it works next week. He could have some setbacks.

“You never know, but he looks like he’d be ready to go.”
