Here's what the Husky marching band will play during halftime of the national championship

Dr. Brad McDavid said Washington was able to bring all 253 band members to the national championship and shared their setlist for the pregame and halftime shows.

SEATTLE — The Washington and Michigan marching bands will take center field during halftime of the College Football Playoff National Championship.

The Huskies are directed by Dr. Brad McDavid, who will retire after 30 years of leading the band at the end of this season.

McDavid said Washington was able to bring all 253 members of the band to the national championship -- something that wasn't possible for the Sugar Bowl.

This will allow the Huskies to perform "on a much larger scale," McDavid told KING 5.

McDavid has led the band at 20 bowl games and a total of more than 300 road and home games. But the matchup against the Michigan Wolverines on Monday, in front of a national audience, might just be the biggest.

In addition to the halftime performance, the bands will also each take the field as part of the pregame festivities.

Here's what Washington plans to play for each performance:

The pregame show is a tribute to the proud history and tradition of the band and Husky football. (Go Dawgs!) The setlist is:

  • Victory for Washington II
  • Mush Huskies
  • Tequila
  • Bow Dow To Washington II
  • Victory for Washington

Bow Down to Washington is the school's fight song. Lester Wilson wrote the song in 1915 in response to a fight song contest hosted by the student newspaper The Daily, according to UW.

Their halftime show will be a hard-rocking tribute to Metallica, featuring the following songs:

  • Enter Sandman
  • Lux Aeterna
  • Master of Puppets

The Huskies played the same halftime set at the Sugar Bowl, but said with the full band at the national championship, the performance would be even better.
