More businesses are looking to fill positions regardless if the candidate uses marijuana.
FPI Management, based in California, oversees multifamily properties in several states, including Washington. The company is looking to hire dozens of new employees. Same with factories in Michigan and hotels in Las Vegas. These employers and others are taking what used to be a radical step: dropping marijuana from drug tests required of prospective employees.
Marijuana testing — a fixture at large American employers for at least 30 years — excludes too many potential workers, experts say, at a time when filling jobs is more challenging.
