SEATTLE – A brush fire that has been burning for two days at Joint Base Lewis-McChord was started by an artillery round fired during a drill.

A base spokesman said Friday that fire crews cannot go inside the area where the fire is burning because there is unexploded ordinance there which could go off.

But JBLM says crew have contained the fire and they will work to keep it from spreading as it burns itself out.
