Researchers are modifying genes in cats and say they're quite impressed with the results. They say they inserted genes from a monkey into cats' eggs before fertilization.
The genes are known to block FIV infections, which are similar to HIV in humans.
The team also placed a jellyfish gene in the cats for tracking purposes. That's what makes the resulting kittens glow green.
Researchers say early tests show these kittens' modified cells kept FIV infections from spreading.
