Seattle police arrested a man for intentionally setting fire to his apartment early Sunday morning in West Seattle.

The fire broke out around 1 a.m. at a unit at an apartment complex in the 4700 block of 42nd Avenue SW.

Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control and the Fire Marshal began investigating the cause of the fire, say police. That's when the resident of the apartment returned to the scene and told the Fire Marshal he intentionally set the fire.

Fire investigators estimated the fire caused about $120,000 worth of damage.

Officers took the man into custody and booked him into the King County Jail for investigation of arson.
