Driver of stolen vehicle that crashed in Kirkland booked into jail

The driver of a truck that struck a tree and a rock on the side of a Kirkland street was arrested.

KIRKLAND, Wash. — The driver of a stolen vehicle that crashed in Kirkland Friday morning was arrested and booked into King County Jail.

The driver was booked for vehicular assault and eluding police. The driver has not been formally charged.

The crash was called in at 11000 NE 68th Street. A truck could be seen wrapped around a rock and a tree. The cab of the vehicle sustained heavy damage. 

The passenger of the truck, a woman, was taken to Harborview Medical Center for minor injuries. She gave police a description of the driver. 

Northeast 68th Street was closed while police investigate. It reopened around 1:30 p.m.
