Investigators searching for the cause of a fire that destroyed a Bainbridge Island restaurant are looking into the possibility that lightning struck the building, sparking the fire.
Fire investigators have begun to enter the building at 241 Winslow Way West to look for clues to the origin and cause of Monday morning s fire which destroyed The 122 restaurant and bar
Initially, investigators were concerned about the structural integrity of the building but have located safe access points to enter.
The BIFD is being assisted by investigators from the Bainbridge Island Police Department, the Suquamish Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives.
The origin and cause may not be determined until early next week, fire officials say.
