The resort's restaurant and gift shop were damaged beyond repair, the resort's Facebook page says.

It s just a shame, said Kris Fordice, from Shoreline.

She and her husband came to the coast for the weekend.

It s one of the best restaurant s on the Washington coast, said Bob Fordice.

All we can do is hope for the best for the family that runs it, said Bob Fordice, Hopefully they make a comeback.

The Curtright family opened the resort in 1953. The couple s daughter, Barbara Matson, is now the General Manager.

It is pretty gutted, said Matson.

The building contained Indian artwork and artifacts, baskets and jewelry. The family planned to donate it to the Musuem of the North Beach in Moclips.

We were holding it for them... until we could get it moved... until they got their building built, said Matson.

But she said the hotel, spa and pool remain open.

Matson s father has passed away, but her mother lives near the resort. Matson said her mother has not come to see the burned out building.

The family plans to rebuild and they are trying to stay positive, according to Matson.

There s not much choice, said Matson. Life happens.

The owners say via Facebook that many people have asked how they can help.
