Federal Way bakery hopes for Christmas miracle after delivery car stolen

Cafe June Bakery’s delivery car was stolen early Christmas Eve morning in Federal Way just before staff members were about deliver holiday treats to customers.

A Grinch was outside the New World Market in Federal Way early Christmas Eve morning. That’s when the owner of Cafe June Bakery says their SUV filled with Christmas deliveries was stolen.

The bakery located in New World Market specializes in Korean breads and sweet treats. Owner Soonjin Shon and daughter Giyeon Kim were shocked when they got the news.

"My first impression was that she was kidding," said Kim.

Instead of calling their customers with the bad news, the bakery got right to work remaking the orders that were stolen and delivered them before noon.

"The customer needs it on time," said Kim.

Cafe June has a car they can use for now but are thinking they will have to rent a vehicle until theirs hopefully comes back.

They ask anyone who sees a brown Acura MDX around town to call the bakery at 206-592-2345, or send an email to giyeon96@gmaill.com.
