Tukwila police pursue suspect, ending with crash in Kent

Tukwila police initially responded to reports of a suspect making threats with a weapon, officials say

KENT, Wash. — A suspect fled from police in the Kent area on Friday afternoon, leaving a trail of destruction, according to police and witness video.

The Tukwila Police Department said officers responded to the 15900 block of West Valley Highway for reports of a suspect making threats with a weapon, according to the department.

The suspect fled in a car, but was found and taken into custody, police said. The department did not immediately offer any additional information about the incident.

Police confirmed officers pursued the suspect, who ended up in Kent near 204th Street and 68th Avenue. Puget Sound Fire officials confirmed that firefighters responded to the area for reports of a crash and they treated an unknown number of people with minor injuries.

Video from a person on the scene shows a trail of destruction in a Kent business district. Debris was scattered along a sidewalk leading to one car with a smashed-in front.
