Tacoma police searching for man suspected in rape

Tacoma police said they have identified the suspect as 22-year-old James Salanoa who is described as 6'2" and weighing 200 lbs.

TACOMA, Wash. — The Tacoma Police Department is asking for the public's help in searching for a man suspected of violent kidnapping and rape last weekend.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, Tacoma police responded to 4911 Tacoma Mall Blvd., the address of a Chuck E. Cheese, for a report on an armed robbery, kidnapping and rape. The victim told police she was kidnapped and raped at gunpoint in her vehicle. 

Police said the suspect fled in a stolen white Cadillac Escalade. which has since been recovered.

Tacoma police said they have identified the suspect as 22-year-old James Salanoa who is described as 6'2" and weighing 200 lbs. Police said Salanoa has a distinctive scar on his left hand.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tacoma police or Crime Stoppers.
