Seattle cannabis facility hit by crash-and-grab despite concrete bollards outside

Police believe a car crashed into the marijuana processing facility in south Seattle in an attempted robbery Thursday morning.

SEATTLE — A marijuana processing facility that is next to Clutch Cannabis on Rainier Avenue South was struck early Thursday morning in a crash-and-grab, according to the Clutch Cannabis owner and employees. It's the third crash-and-grab at a pot business in as many days in Seattle.

Previous reports from the King County Sheriff's Office indicated Clutch Cannabis was the store that was hit.

A man who identified himself as the owner told KING 5 at the scene that suspects fit a small car between the bollards in order to crash into the business.

The property does have a chain-link fence around it, but the owner said he has to leave it open on Thursdays in order for a garbage truck to come in and empty the dumpsters inside.

The sheriff's office said nothing appeared to be stolen.

Police have not given any suspect information at this time.

On Wednesday morning, a pot shop in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle was hit by a smash-and-grab. Tuesday, a SODO pot shop was hit for the second time in six months by a crash-and-grab, where an estimated $15,000 worth of merchandise was taken from the store.
