1 dead in shooting at Auburn apartment

The King County Sheriff's Office said no arrests had been made.

AUBURN, Wash. — A person was shot and killed at an Auburn apartment building on Friday night.

Two 911 calls reported a shooting at the Watermark Apartments on the 31600 block of Military Road S just after 8 p.m. Friday, the King County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded, as did medical personnel, but the victim was declared dead at the scene.

KCSO deputies used K-9s and a helicopter to search for a suspect, but no arrests have been made.

The sheriff's office did not provide any other details about the victim or the circumstances that led to the shooting. The King County Medical Examiner's Office will release the name and the person's cause of death.

The Federal Way Police Department also responded to the scene to assist, KCSO said, and a volunteer chaplain was at the scene to assist friends and family of the victim.
