Forbes released its annual list of the 400 wealthiest people in America Tuesday. This elite group has a combined net worth of $2.4 trillion.
Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, had a net worth of $81 billion.
Second is Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos at $67 billion.
The list has nine Washingtonians. They include former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer ($27.5 billion); Microsoft co-founder and Seahawks owner Paul Allen ($18.9 billion); and Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz ($2.9 billion).
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is ranked at No. 156 with $3.7 billion.
Alice Walton, the daughter of Walmart co-founder Sam Walton, is the wealthiest woman in the U.S. at the No. 13 spot at $35.4 billion.
Ranked at No. 10, Russian-born Google co-founder Sergey Brin is America's richest immigrant ($37.5 billion). Other notables include Oprah Winfrey ($2.8 billion) at No. 239 and Rupert Murdoch ($11.1 billion) at No. 38.
