3 holiday cocktail recipes from Westland Distillery

Jenna Sagmoen from Westland Distillery shows off three whiskey based drinks that are perfect to try during the holiday season.

SEATTLE —

Westland Winter Crisp

  • 1.5 oz Westland Flagship Whiskey
  • 1/3 oz Maple Syrup
  • 100 grams Honeycrisp Apple (about ½ apple)
  • Grated Nutmeg (~5 seconds of grating)
  • Orange peel garnish

· Directions: Dice apple into small chunks and muddle in cocktail shaker. Alternatively, you can put into a blender and pulse it a few times. Use a cheesecloth for filtering if needed. Add whiskey, maple syrup and nutmeg, shake well with ice for 10-15 seconds. Strain into chilled coupe and garnish with orange peel – Be sure to squeeze and release the oils!

Berry and Bright

  • 1.5 oz Westland Flagship Whiskey
  • 1.5 oz Cranberry Juice
  • ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 oz Ginger Ale
  • Garnish – Rosemary Sprig + Fresh Cranberries

Directions: Combine first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well for 10-15 seconds. Strain into rocks class with fresh ice and top with ginger ale. Add sprig of rosemary and fresh cranberries for garnish.


The Coldfront

  • 1.5 oz Westland Flagship Whiskey
  • ¾ oz Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1/3 oz Cold Brew Concentrate
  • 1/2 oz Sweet Cream Creamer
  • Shaved Chocolate Rim

Directions: Create the chocolate rim to start. Shave a chocolate bar and put shavings aside. Line a chilled coupe rim with simple syrup (or chocolate syrup!) and dip into shavings and set aside. Combine all ingredients and shake well over ice. Strain into coupe and enjoy!
