Sound Transit explains why it takes so long to build light rail

We also get an update on current construction projects and how you can give feedback.

SEATTLE — Sound Transit has been expanding for as long as some middle schoolers have been alive. So what, exactly, is taking so long? It turns out the process of constructing a public transit system is more intricate than the average Washingtonian may have thought, involving multiple stages of public input, environmental reviews, and route design.

Kimberly Reason from Sound Transit joins New Day Northwest to shine some light on the road to construction, talk about what new routes are currently being built, and which routes are a little farther off into the future.

If you'd like to learn more about a feature route or have feedback on route design you'd like to offer, visit Sound Transit's website.
