SEATTLE — There's a lot to love at Tacoma's Over the Moon Café. Owner Deanna Harris-Bender has been perfecting her recipe for Croutes de Fromage (aka fancy grilled cheese) for 19 years. She's got a unique way of preparing it and says, "I have it down to a fine art and my method makes it super easy every time.”
Over the Moon Café is not just a place for a meal but a place to make memories.Deanna says it's “A place to gather to remember, to slow down, to breathe and enjoy all of life's beauty, imperfections, poetry and even our losses. A place where you check your stressors at the door, and just be.”
They are known for their “note boxes," a box of love notes on every table. Patrons through the years have added notes to the boxes for others to enjoy, sharing life stories or secretly writing to their one true love. Readers at the tables often linger after their meal, reading note after note.
Tacoma, romance, and fromage, what more can we say? Je t'aime!
