SEATTLE — That's Amore Italian Cafe has everything you could want in a neighborhood gem- great Italian food, an incredible view, and a great story behind the restaurant!

The view from That's Amore is hard to beat!

A couple, Guy and David, own the restaurant together. They bought the restaurant in 2018, but it was quite the journey to get where they are today.

Guy used to work in tech, but the stress affected him so much, he ended up in the hospital- that's when he decided to leave tech and start waiting tables at That's Amore. He quickly became part of the restaurant family. When the original owner retired, he offered it to Guy and David, in hopes it would remain a local spot.

That's Amore serves Italian favorites, with some twists on the old classics- like their orange white chocolate cannoli.

They couldn't afford it at the time, so Guy started saving money- he even drove for Lyft at one point, and they featured him on a podcast. Finally, Guy and David hosted a fundraiser at the restaurant, inviting all of their friends and regular customers. They were able to raise enough money to buy the restaurant- and thus, That's Amore was reborn!

It's a good thing, too, because where would we be without dishes like their Mushroom Polenta?

This is their most popular appetizer, featuring roasted garlic seared polenta cake, wild mushrooms, and a herbed parmesan crisp.
