General Porpoise has expanded to four locations around Seattle.

Chef Renee Erickson continues to expand her high-end doughnut and coffee shop, General Porpoise. The newest location opened late March in Seattle's Pioneer Square.

The sugar-coated doughnuts are made from scratch each day and then filled with seasonal jams, creams and custards. Popular flavors include vanilla custard, lemon curd and chocolate marshmallow.

At nearly $4.00 each, the doughnuts are pricey, but that doesn't seem to scare off customers. The pillowy confections often sell out. In addition to doughnuts, General Porpoise serves a rotating selection of coffees.

The original General Porpoise is located in Capitol Hill. There are plans to open in the Laurelhurst neighborhood in late Spring.
