Cone & Steiner is a modern-day general store with a long history

Cone & Steiner celebrates community by serving as a place for people to come together over good food and drinks.

It's been four years since Cone & Steiner opened its doors in Seattle's Capitol Hill, but its story goes back much further.

The original store was founded in 1915 in what's now Seattle's SoDo neighborhood. It served as a gathering spot — a place catch up with neighbors while shopping for food and supplies.

It was that spirit of community that inspired Dani Cone to follow in her great-grandfather's footsteps. She took the name and concept and turned it into something modern-day Seattle would appreciate.

Cone & Steiner is a new type of neighborhood market. You can find everything from everything from fresh flowers to craft beers along with a curated selection of local foods and products.

Since opening in 2014, Cone & Steiner has expanded to include locations in Pioneer Square and Downtown Seattle.
