Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine talk new rom com 'The Idea Of You'

The romantic comedy about a May/December romance debuts on Prime Video May 2. #k5evening

SEATTLE — Anne Hathaway is coming back to the screen in a sexy new rom com that flips the script on May/December romances.

Based on the best-selling novel, “The Idea Of You” positions the man as the younger one in the relationship.

Nicholas Galitzine plays Hayes, a member of a famous boy band, who falls for 40-year-old mother and divorcee Solène (Hathaway.)

Entertainment reporter Kim Holcomb talked to the actors about their roles.

HOLCOMB: “Anne, I just want to say welcome - finally - to the 40's club.”

HATHAWAY: “Thank you so much!”

HOLCOMB: “I love that you are proving it doesn't make us less desirable or less successful or less of anything, and I'm curious - what is your favorite part of being in your 40's now?”

HATHAWAY: “That I'm not dead. (laughter) I've never really identified with my age. Like, I knew at the age of three I wanted to be an actress - like, I really wanted to be working at three, and I started pursuing this career professionally at 13, so I'm always completely out of whack with whatever age I'm supposed to be. So I really just consider being alive to be a tremendous gift."

HOLCOMB: "I think you guys can both relate to Hayes in terms of fame and certain things you just can't comfortably do anymore. I'm wondering if there's anything you miss doing?"

HATHAWAY: "No, because I do it anyway. I just accept that it's going to be a little bit different. You can't hide from your life, I love doing things. And it's fine - I mean, for the most part, it's just people who have, in my case, they have a relationship with some movies that I made 22 years ago that they grew up with, and if they want to tell me they had a great time, it certainly doesn't ruin my time. No, I just do the things I like to do and love to do, and I go grocery shopping all the time. (laughs)"

GALITZINE: "I think one thing for me is, I love walking around the cities I live in and I never want to feel the sense of agoraphobia that I can't be out in the world, and I think you deal with it in a different way, and sometimes you have moments where you have to create boundaries of switching off and being not available. I haven't felt a sort of sizeable shift necessarily in certainly the way I like to act in public.”

HOLCOMB: "Since we know you can sing, you both can sing, did you ever go out and do karaoke together?"

GALITZINE: "I would love to do karaoke with Annie.”

HATHAWAY: “Maybe tonight.”

GALITZINE: “Maybe tonight. What a voice, as well. The thing with Annie that you can always kind of guarantee is somewhere on set, she's singing away...”

HATHAWAY: “Oh no...”

GALITZINE: “No, wonderful! It's wonderful to hear.”

HATHAWAY: “How irksome.”

GALITZINE: “It's not irksome. It's not irksome!”

HATHAWAY: “And you just want Nick to sing more."

GALITZINE: "We've already planned, we're doing a musical together.”

HATHAWAY: “We don't know which one. We have no idea which one. But it's coming out next year. (laughter)"
