SEATTLE — After 12 years away from Seattle, in June 2022, I moved back home to join the incredible team at KING 5. I grew up in Seattle watching KING 5, and after a high school day trip to see the KING 5 newsroom, my passion for journalism was born. On that day I set course to become a journalist and to someday work at KING 5. Now, my dream is realized, and this proud Seattleite gets to report news and tell stories in my home community.
I grew up in West Seattle, graduating from Holy Names Academy, then attending Gonzaga University in Spokane. I moved to California to study journalism at Chapman University, graduating from the Dodge College of Film and Broadcasting. I began my journalism career at KRCR in Redding, California, then WBIR in Knoxville, Tennessee. Prior to coming to KING 5, I was the evening anchor at ABC10 in Sacramento, California. At KING 5, I am the weekend evening anchor and reporter.
I am passionate about investigative and long-form journalism. At ABC 10, I started a true crime series called Unsolved California. It’s very rewarding to bring awareness to cases that have gone cold, increasing the chance of a break in the case and resolution for families of victims. At ABC10, I received an Emmy award for coverage of a string of devastating and deadly wildfires in Northern California.
I am a mental health advocate and will always find ways to share my personal journey with people in order to help others. In my off time, I love to be outside exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my two dogs, Filson and Griffey. I love the water and I find peace either hiking or fishing. Recently, I discovered my love for golf and I’m currently working on perfecting my swing. I’m a big Seattle sports fan. I will jump at any opportunity to attend a game. Go Hawks!
