Hi, my name is Chris Egan, and I'm the weekend sports anchor and sports reporter for KING 5.
I'm from Puyallup, Washington, and have been working at KING 5 for over 17 years.
I cover the Seahawks, Mariners, Sounders, Huskies, Cougars, Storm, high school sports and plenty of other teams.
I've interviewed thousands of athletes over the years, and have covered two Super Bowls, two MLS Cups, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio and the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
Over the years I've won seven Emmy awards and an Edward R. Murrow award for sports reporting.
I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 1995, and was named the Man of the Year in Sports in '95 after four successful seasons on the tennis team.
Outside of work, you can usually find me with my three kids Madison, Austin and Luke, or hanging out with my wife and high school sweetheart, Melanie. I love coaching youth sports, watching my kids compete and I also enjoy still playing sports, especially pickleball and tennis.
I love the Northwest, and it's a dream come true for me to be covering sports on KING 5.
If you have any story ideas, send them to cegan@king5.com, or find me on Twitter @chrisegan5 and Facebook.
