Road reopens after car hits utility pole in Seattle’s Crown Hill neighborhood

Holman Road Northwest closed near Mary Avenue Northwest early Wednesday morning after a car crashed into a utility pole.

SEATTLE — All lanes of Holman Road Northwest in north Seattle closed early Wednesday morning after a car crashed into a utility pole, causing traffic lights to fall into the street.

The crash happened at the intersection of Holman Road Northwest and Mary Avenue Northwest, which is a couple of blocks east of Soundview Playfield in Seattle’s Crown Hill neighborhood.

The Seattle Department of Transportation first tweeted about the crash around 3:35 a.m. The road was closed for nearly six hours before reopening to traffic around 9:10 a.m.

Crews on the scene told KING 5 that the vehicle that crashed was traveling toward 15th Avenue Northwest before hitting the pole. A tow truck arrived at the scene just before 5 a.m.

No word on any injuries. No power outages were reported in the area due to the crash.
