Seattle Weather

Fog Tonight, Rain Tomorrow

Updated yesterday at 6:36 PM

Mostly clear this evening, but with areas of fog developing-especially by late evening. Some of the fog will be dense; the result of light winds, clear skies and wet ground. Most areas will see lows in the mid to upper 30's, but with sheltered areas (especially valleys) possibly dropping into the low 30's, there will again by a chance of spotty freezing fog.

Tomorrow, the narrow ridge of high pressure responsible for two days of beautiful weather will retreat, enabling a warm front to approach. That will spread rain over the coast during the morning hours; some spotty rainfall is possible over the Puget Sound area later in the morning, but I believe rainfall is most likely from mid-day into the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40's.

The mountain passes are all likely to see snow; probably 1 to 4". That's most likely during the afternoon hours. The snow level will range from 2,000 to 2,500'.

The long range computer models show a big low is retreating slightly from the Aleutians into the Bering Sea, but it's likely to direct a series of disturbances into western Washington and British Columbia from Wednesday through the weekend.
