OLYMPIA, Wash. — With private and public schools closing next week statewide due to coronavirus concerns, many parents will likely be searching for activities to do with their kids. A farm in Olympia has offered up a solution, a place for kids to play with kids -- kid goats that is.
The Lost Peacock Creamery in Olympia is offering an “emergency goat camp” next week. Parents can bring their children to play with the baby goats and learn all about working on a farm.
“We have kids in school and the first thing that came to my mind was ‘what about all the working parents?’” said Rachel Taylor-Tuller of Lost Peacock Creamery. “We’re doing an emergency goat camp. We can’t take all the kids, we can take a few. We’ll work on the farm, we’ll wash our hands, we’ll have fun and we’ll try and pass the time with baby goats.”
The farm’s owner said their goat cheese business has taken a hit with fewer people going to restaurants, so having this “emergency goat camp” could also help their business as well as help parents.
