Fire at Madrona School contained to faculty lounge

A fire that erupted inside Edmond's Madrona School is out and caused more than $250,000 in damage. There are no injuries.

EDMONDS, Wash. -- A fire that erupted inside Edmond's Madrona School is out and caused more than $250,000 in damage. There are no injuries.

Late Sunday night, the district notified parents that there would be no school on Monday for Madrona students.
Snohomish county firefighters contained the fire solely to the faculty lounge before fully extinguishing it around 9 p.m.

Crews first responded to the scene just after 8 p.m. and saw black smoke coming from the school. Additional crews were then called.

Madrona School is located at 9300 236th St.
