Proposal would expand new mom care
KING 5 News got exclusive access to a program the state says, is changing and saving lives. Under the optional program, nurses regularly visit first-time moms considered "at risk" in their homes before and after they give birth. The Governor says the program is reducing the state's infant mortality rate and wants to double the funding for it. South Bureau Chief Drew Mikkelsen take us inside one of the visits.
