This cruise to the Caribbean visits Coco Cay, Royal Caribbean's private island

The island is home to the first overwater cabanas and largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, as well as the tallest water slide in North America. Sponsored by AAA Washington.

SEATTLE — May is 3@Sea month at AAA Washington where they celebrate cruising with three different cruise lines, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara Club Cruises, and Royal Caribbean International.

Royal Caribbean International has 26 different ships which frequent the Caribbean year round. "We've got a strong global presence as well," said Cody Phillips of Royal Caribbean International. "We go all over Europe, Asia, Australia, you pick a destination, we've got a ship to take you there."

Coco Cay is an island owned by Royal Caribbean in the Bahamas. "We have the first overwater cabanas in the Caribbean." The island is also home to the tallest water slide in North America, and the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean.

Royal Caribbean's ship "Ovation of the Seas" will leave Seattle and head to Alaska on an "all-weather" ship. "It's got more balconies than any other ship in Alaska, and all the inside staterooms have virtual balconies so you never have to take your eyes off the scenery." The ship's pools are all covered by retractable glass ceilings so travelers can swim in any type of weather. "Ovation of the Seas" also offers the highest vantage point from a cruise ship, 350 feet above the ship with 360-degree unobstructed views.

Recently Royal Caribbean introduced laser tag, surf simulators, virtual reality simulators, and escape the room experiences. "With our entertainment, from Broadway to our ice skating shows to the physical activities, everything is complimentary on board."

Royal Caribbean ships offer dining rooms and buffets and there are additional eateries on board. "We offer Mexican fare, seafood, farm to table, everything that your stomach and heart could handle at the same time we can offer you once you get on board the ship."

Booking a Royal Caribbean cruise with AAA gives travelers perks that are exclusive to AAA Members. "Priority boarding, wine, and specialty dining to name a few."

AAA also has insider information that can help customers navigate their cruising experience. "Cruising is confusing. When do I book my shows? What restaurants do I need to go to? How do I get to the ship? Your AAA team does all that for you. Whether you're a new cruiser or a long time cruiser there are things you don't know, so why not go to the product experts."

IN-STORE EVENTS:  Cody Phillips of Royal Caribbean International will be at AAA Travel Stores to talk about Royal Caribbean's exclusive island Coco Cay at two upcoming 3@Sea Events.  RSVP for more details.
