Hula Hula turns up the tiki - Voted 2017's BEST

Tiki and karaoke bar survives and thrives after changing neighborhoods. Sponsored by Seattle Magazine.

Your choice for best tiki bar also boasts a-rockin' karaoke stage.

Capitol Hill's Hula Hula is a great place to celebrate, witness courageous musical performances, and sip on fancy drinks, especially a favorite among tropical tourists, the mai-tai.

"We have two Mai Tais," said owner Keith Robbins. "We have the classic and the tourist Mai Tai."

The tourist version is made with a little more fruit juice and, tiki purists will tell you, a little less authenticity than the classic.

Hula Hula is a Seattle survival story. Robbins set up shop in this new location after demolition due to new construction forced the business from its original Queen Anne building.

Robbins said, "We brought half the stuff from the old location. Moving into a new neighborhood and getting these kind of accolades is fantastic."

On Capitol Hill, Robbins and his team's decorating has turned the tiki up a notch.

"Even more tiki-fied than the Queen Anne location," Robbins said. "Sort of a nod at classic tiki bars from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's."

For Seattle tiki lovers, fancy drinks and fearless karaoke have never sounded better.
